Terms of Use

Effective: 2026-10-02

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the WardOff iPhone app and its related services (together, the “Service”), provided by WardOff (“WardOff”, “we”, “us”). By downloading or using WardOff, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.

1. The Service

WardOff analyses the text of messages you choose to submit and gives an AI-generated assessment of whether they may be fraudulent: a risk level, the warning signs it noticed, and a suggested next step. WardOff never reads your messages on its own; it only analyses text you paste in or share to it.

2. Information only — no guarantee

Assessments are generated automatically by an AI model and can be wrong or incomplete. A “low risk” or “appears legitimate” result does not mean a message is safe, and a “high risk” result does not prove it is fraudulent.

WardOff is for information only. It is not legal, financial, or security advice. Before you click a link, share a code, or send money, verify independently through the institution’s official channel. You remain responsible for the decisions you make.

3. Your licence to use WardOff

You may use WardOff if you are able to enter into a binding contract where you live, or with the permission of a parent or guardian. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use WardOff on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: use the Service for anything unlawful; submit content you have no right to share; use the Service to create, test, or improve scams or to evade fraud detection; access the Service by automated means or other than through the official app; copy, reverse engineer, overload, or interfere with the Service or its servers; get around usage limits or device restrictions; or resell the Service.

We may limit, suspend, or end access for a device that breaks these rules.

5. What you submit

You keep all rights to the messages you submit. You allow us and our service providers to process them only to provide the analysis, as described in our Privacy Policy. Please don’t include more personal information than necessary — you can remove names, account numbers, or codes before checking a message.

6. Free checks and Premium

Each device gets 5 free checks, at most 3 a day. WardOff Premium is an auto-renewable subscription, billed monthly or yearly, that allows up to 50 checks a day. Daily limits reset at 00:00 UTC. A check that fails does not count against your limits.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store account settings. Prices are shown in the App Store before you buy, and refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

We may change limits, features, or prices for future periods. Changes to a subscription’s price follow Apple’s rules, including advance notice and, where required, your consent.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep WardOff available, but we don’t guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Analysis depends on third-party services and may sometimes be unavailable. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service.

8. Intellectual property

WardOff, its name, logo, app, and website belong to us or our licensors. Apart from the licence in section 3, these Terms give you no rights to them.

9. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Apple, TypeSafe, Supabase, and Cloudflare. Their own terms and policies apply to their services.

10. Disclaimer

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, WardOff is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any loss resulting from acting or not acting on an assessment, including money lost to fraud. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for intent or gross negligence, or your mandatory rights as a consumer.

12. Ending these Terms

You can stop using WardOff at any time by deleting the app; cancel any subscription in your App Store account settings. We may end your access as described in section 4. Sections 2, 8, 10, 11, and 15 continue to apply afterwards.

13. Apple

These Terms are between you and WardOff only, not Apple, and WardOff — not Apple — is solely responsible for the app and its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.

If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the app; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection claims, nor for investigating, defending, settling, or discharging any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.

You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will publish the new version on this page with a new effective date before it applies and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. If you keep using WardOff after the changes apply, you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, or your right to apply to consumer arbitration committees or consumer courts.
